WORK EXPERIENCE
In my time in the professional world, I have held three part-time jobs: Sales Associate at Cheeky Peach Boutique, Lifeguard at Summit Chase Country Club, and Intern at Conyers Rockdale Council for the Arts.
CHEEKY PEACH BOUTIQUE
VISUAL MERCHANDISING
Practiced organizing merchandise in an aesthetically pleasing way on the store floor. This included styling end caps and mannequins, as well as organizing merchandise (clothing, jewelry, shoes) on racks.
STYLING
Real-life experience assisting customers style pieces from the store. Most importantly learned how to lend creativity to suit the customer’s wants.
BEHIND THE SCENES
Learned what it takes to run a brick-and-mortar including unpacking shipments, organizing storage, steaming garments, tagging new items, and moving merchandise to the floor.
SUMMIT CHASE COUNTRY CLUB
CUSTOMER SERVICE
As a Lifeguard, I was the first line of customer service. Any needs the country club members had, I was the first to cater to them.
ORGANIZATION
Organization of the time schedule as well as the inventory of the store was vital to the operation of lifeguarding.
PROBLEM SOLVING
Many tasks that came up during this job required quick thinking and problem solving when addressing a situation.
COMMUNICATION
Effective communication between fellow lifeguards and guests was essential for a smooth-running operation and had to be maintained.
CONYERS ROCKDALE COUNCIL FOR THE ARTS
EVENT PLANNING
As an office intern, I assisted in planning a variety of events ranging from a Jimmy Buffet Tribute Band concert to week-long art and drama camps for children.
OFFICE WORK
Here I also filed papers, ran errands, painted window murals to promote upcoming events, and making/ answering phone calls.
SOCIAL MEDIA MANAGEMENT
The social media management for CRCA included keeping the Facebook and Twitter pages up to date with the organization’s happenings.
